Freelancers: A family affair

In his book “Freelancers: A revolution in the way we work” author Tony Gregory describes a family of Freelancers where the husband and wife, Rachel and Daniel, both do freelance work while at the same time doing other part-time jobs – all the while having the free time to take care of their young son.

This is what Freelancers are all about. It is about the ability to chose when you will work and for how long and on what projects. It is about the freedom to chose what activities you will do with your life rather than having a boss at a company do that for you. It is the reason why websites such as www.IndiaFreelancers.com are so popular with your freelancers.

On IndiaFreelancers.com Rachel and Daniel may log on whenever the wish, chose the project or projects which appeal to them, negotiate a price for their development and delivery and work on those projects in their free time and at their leisure. On top of that, since the income generated on IndiaFreelancers.com is so generous, they also have the money to have a great quality of life for themselves and for their young son. Freelance work – especially on up and coming and increasingly popular sites such as www.IndiaFreelancers.com is truly a way to have a better life on many levels.

Freelancers: The great majority are excellent

I recently read an article in Quora written back in July of 2012 and although I am sure that the write meant well and had good intentions, some of the things mentioned in his article were so dismal sounding and depressing that if it were not for the fact that I have personally worked with www.IndiaFreelancers.com and have seen the excellent freelancers which one can find on this website, I myself might have become discouraged.

My mom used to say that in life there are the “Dream Helpers” and the “Dream Killers” and I think I understand what she meant. Some people – even with good intentions – will listen to your dreams and discourage you from pursuing them. Others will listen to your dreams and encourage you and give you support both moral as well as financial. Try to stay away from the “Dream Killers” and cultivate relationships with the “Dream Helpers”.

In the article I mention in Quora (July 2012) the writer – who clearly had good intentions – speaks rather frankly about some of the possible negative aspects of hiring a programmer or developer in India; but the things he says are not the experience we have had on www.IndiaFreelancers.com.

On www.IndiaFreelancers.com our experience has been quite the opposite. We have always experienced positive things. Our programmers and web developers have been responsible, courteous, excellent and superbly qualified. We have not encountered, as the article states, “semi-literates pretending to be engineers.”. How harsh his wording. Also, as he states in this article, he says that in India has “an ethics problem” and the people in India “casually lie about things.” This could not be farther than what has been our experience. We have found programmers on www.IndiaFreelancers.com to be trustworthy, honest, truthful and completely dependable.

Therefore, remember what my mom often said. In life there are “Dream Killers” and “Dream Helpers”. The writer of this story – despite his apparent good intentions – would like the dream of someone who is looking to find an excellent programmer or web designer in India. Please do not let stories like this to take away your dream of looking for a great programmer or web designer in India who will make an outstanding website for a fraction of what that same website would cost in the US or Europe.

The Growing Freelancers Market

In an article in today’s (Thursday January 28th, 2016) Wall Street Journal, the topic of what is called a “Healthy Freelance Market” was described. Freelancers, the article reported, are a part of “A new class of private marketplace that connects software developers with corporations eager to hire people with the latest tech skills…”. This “new economy” approach to finding the “right” tech help for one’s company allows corporations the ability to assemble a team of programmers and coders who may live hundreds – if not thousands – of miles away from each other.

The employers and corporations may be benefiting from this globalization of the talent pool, but the software developers themselves are as well benefiting. By doing Freelance work through such websites as www.IndiaFreelancers.com, these young tech savvy programmers and web developers may easily earn as much as $100 to $200 an hour – in a country (India, for example) where such an income might represent a month’s work in a more traditional industry. Talented freelancers are able to earn, in some cases, as much as $278,400 per year! Some of the most coveted skills which command the highest incomes include JavaScript, WordPress skills, Database mastery and other relevant technological expertise areas.

According to a study reported by the Edelman Berland research firm in 2015, there are more than 53 million Americans doing Freelancer work. In a country with a population which approaches almost three times the population of the United States, one can imagine that in India that figure for the number of Freelancers may be as high as close to 160 million Freelancers – and a great amount of them finding work on www.IndiaFreelancers.com!

As the age of the Internet progresses and our planet increasingly becomes smaller, we can expect that the growth of Freelancers able to command lofty salaries will increase. More importantly, as computers increasingly become an indispensable part of our lives, so will the presence of those who help us with these machines become indispensable.

So many Freelancers websites

With the recent marked increase in the number of web programmers. web developers and tech professionals in India, it seems that every day there is a new website for Freelancers from India to join and get work.

How does a programmer chose where to sign up? How does an employer know which Freelancers web site to trust in order to submit his order? As the crowd of websites which facilitate the meeting between employer and Freelancers increases, the choice is more and more difficult to make.

The good news is that www.IndiaFreelancers.com is an excellent, effective and very trustworthy web site which brings employers and Freelancers together in the safety of this website. For an increasing number of employers and Freelancers, the choice of where to go is increasingly www.IndiaFreelancers.com – and for a good reason. The results which people obtain on www.IndiaFreelancers.com is superior to that obtained on almost any other such platform.

Salary for Programmers

According to a recent writing in Payscale.com, the average salary for a Software Engineer or a web site developer in India is about Rs 368,064 per year. At today’s exchange rate of approximately Rs 60 for every dollar, that equals a yearly salary of approximately $6,134 dollars. What is more significant is that people who earn this much in a job in India as a Software Engineer or web site developer typically do not have more than 10 years’ experience at their profession.

Someone working as a freelancer on www.IndiaFreelancers.com, however, is able to earn this amount of money i.e. Rs 368,064 or ($6,134 US dollars) in one month, not in a year – since the employers on www.IndiaFreelancers.com pay in dollars. The best part about this is that the employers themselves are getting an excellent return for their expenditures since the programmers and developers in India are excellent. The skills that are highly sought after and the ones associated with the higher pay include Linux and Open Source programming as well as Word Press.

India Institute of Technology (IIT)

In a  recent article in the Times of India (August 18, 2015), it was noted that an increasing number of start-ups in India are employing India Institute of Technology (IIT) from as early in their school years as from their second and third years of IIT school.

It can be quite lucrative. A student from IIT Bombay earns as much as Rs 70,000 a month by just devoting only about 3 hours a day to developing software for a startup company. Other students who do not wish to work for someone else, simply create accounts on websites such as www.IndiaFreelancers.com and get work from employers as far away as the USA, England and Australia through that website.

In addition to websites such as www.IndiaFreelancers.com, there are a number of startups in India such as Bewakoof.com, Venturesity, Jabong, TouchKraft and VanityCube – just to name a few – all of which are employing IIT students in increasingly large numbers.

It is a win-win for both the companies and the students says Ashu Malhotra, head, human resources at Jabong, since “Companies gain by getting solutions while the students gain by getting exposure of two to four months”. With India’s growing IT presences in the world, freelancing and employment in the IT world are bound to continue to increase in India.

In a recent article in the Economic Times, from May of 2015, it was noted that the government in India will soon launch the Digital India Platform (abbreviated as “DIP”) which will be a place online which will provide freelancing opportunities to people in India – similar to the way that IndiaFreelancers.com provides freelancing opportunities to people in India.

The plan for the DIP is that the government plans to convert all of the current and future government documents into digital form. As such, the government will allow freelancers to bid on the work to convert all of these government documents into a digital format.

The requirements for someone to take part in this government DIP program is that the interested person needs to have, or apply for, a government Aadhaar number prior to visiting the government DIP website to apply for freelancerwork.

In creating this DIP program, “We are of course cautious about the confidentiality of government documents” said India IT Secretary, RS Sharma. It is for this reason that the government plans to parcel out the documents to the freelancers line by line.
