Freelancers: Tata versus Epic – please be careful

This past Friday April 15th, 2016 a United State’s Federal Grand Jury in the state of Wisconsin handed down a fine of $940 million dollar fine against because of a trade secret lawsuit that the Epic company filed against India’s Tata Group (which consists of the Tata Consultancy Services and Tata America International Corporation).

In the case above, a federal grand ruled that Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Tata America International Corporation must each pay $240 million to Epic Systems for ripping off its software. How embarrassing for an India company to be caught doing something like this.

This is not a good day for India. In this blog I have mentioned many times how wonderful things look for us in India. How we in India are developing a great name for ourselves in the international stage. I keep mentioning how we in India are becoming a world economic power and how the world is looking to our technical abilities and regards them as being excellent. I mention  over and over how many excellent and outstanding programmers, web designers and technical professionals we have in IndiaFreelancers.com and how proud we are of their abilities.

But things like this Tata case against the medical software company Epic do not make us in India look good at all. As unpleasant as this story has been, the good news is that this is a small story. There was no super coverage of this story on the evening news in America. This story did not make it to the front pages of the newspapers. This is good. As we in India grow and become more and more respected around the world, we do not want for people to think of us as anything other than completely honest and of the highest integrity.

The good news about this Tata versus Epic case is that people in America and in Europe and the rest of the world think of it as just one company versus another company – and not as Indians behaving dishonorably. Thank Goodness!

So we ask our excellent and outstanding programmers, web developers and technical experts on IndiaFreelancers.com to please be careful which work orders or assignments you accept. With a name like IndiaFreelancers.com, the world is watching to see what we and our excellent programmers in India do. The world is indeed watching India and we want that what they see encourages the rest of the world to continue to feel that we in India are the best of what is to come in the next century – and we most certainly are.

Yesterday, April 15th, 2016 governor Raghuram Rajan of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that the RBI may LOWER its interest rates (lower? Yes, lower) if inflation continues to ease up and if India’s monsoon season turns out to be a good one. Governor Rajan further stated that India has “got it right” with our country’s financial policy in terms of managing our growing and emerging economy.

I could not agree more. At a time when the USA and other countries are thinking of INCREASING their interest rates, the RBI is considering LOWERING our interest rates in India. These guys could not be more wise. A lower interest rate will continue to help Indians to borrow money with which to start new businesses and thereby continue India’s rise as a world economic power.

In our lifetimes, we are witnessing the rise of prominence of India on the world’s stage. The day is soon arriving when India will be more than an “emerging economy.” India will soon be world economic power. It is through such excellent leadership like governor Rajan’s of the RBI that our economy will continue to thrive and grow. Indeed, the RBI has lowered its interest rate by an approximate cumulative amount of 1.5 per cent since a little over two years ago in January of 2015. Now THAT’S Indian leadership. That is the kind of leadership which has produced Indian native sons and daughters such as the current CEOs of companies such as Microsoft, Google and Pepsi. A slow, steady and PREDICTABLE decrease in interest rates allows us in India to better plan things. We know what to expect in terms of interest rates and therefore we can better plan when to take out loans to start, grow and/or expand businesses here in India.

This kind of Indian excellence is the excellence that is sprouting out like blooming flowers all over India in different and diverse industries from medicine to technology. Indian quality, intelligence and ability is on beautiful display on the world’s stage and making a wonderful name for itself.

Indian quality is equally greatly and wonderfully on display on IndiaFreelancers.com. On this platform/website some of the best and the brightest technology minds in India are available to be employed. Via IndiaFreelancers.com people from all over the world – Europe, China, America and many other countries – are able to hire our excellent, outstanding and superb technical minds here in India – for the betterment of the planet and the continued growth worldwide of the Indian name as a symbol of quality. So we tell our outstanding Freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com to carefully continue to “watch your world”. Keep an eye on things such as interest rates and what the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other institutions do so you can continue to be the crest of the wave that brings India into the 22nd century. We here at Blog.IndiaFreelancers.com will continue to keep you informed of what is happening around you as you continue your journey for India’s glory.

Freelancers: Women professionals welcome

400 years is a long time. Think about it. 400 years ago in America, the colony of Jamestown was established. This was 170 years before the country of America/USA itself even existed. 400 years ago in India the states of Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh and karnataka, among others, did not exist.

Therefore, 400 years is a long time; however, as long as that is, that is how long it has been before the entry for women into the sanctum of the Shani temple had been permitted. The ban on women has been in place for four centuries. Women have not been allowed to step onto the high platform on which stands the black stone which symbolizes Lord Shanidev, the personification of planet Saturn – until now. But this four-century-old tradition was changed last Friday April April 9th, 2016 when a Bombay high court, stimulated by equal rights activists helped to bring the Shani Shingnapur temple trust to agree to break 400 years of not allowing women into the high platform and announced that it will allow women into the sanctum sanctorum of the shrine.

These developments have been amazing in a few ways. Amazing that such a tradition of four centuries can change – as well as amazing that it has taken 4 centuries for the tradition to change. Both are impressive.

But by contrast, although the world of traditions take a long time to change, the world of IT changes rapidly. Women make up a substantial proportion of our excellent programmers, web developers and tech professionals on IndiaFreelancers.com. Not only do we not discriminate against women, we at IndiaFreelancers.com encourage women to please come to be a part of our excellent website and platform.

There are many applications and program requirements which benefit from the point of view of a woman. Equally important, woman as as gifted and as excellent in these programming and technical skills as their male counterparts – and we wish to encourage more and more women to join our ranks.

Therefore, although it may have taken 400 years for women to be allowed into the sanctum of the Shani Shingnapur temple, it only takes a minute or two to find excellent and outstanding female programmers, web designers and technical professionals on IndiaFreelancers.com. We are very proud of women’s achievements on IndiaFreelancers.com.

The world values Indian’s IT capabilities and now our government in India is showing us that it very much values out IT as well.

The India Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) today, April 8, 2016, proposed that all IIT students, at the time when they are admitted to the school, are to be given the possible access to INTEREST-FREE loans for their entire tuition, under the government’s “Vidyalakshmi” program. Now, as attractive as that sounds, we have to remember that it is particularly difficult to obtain admission to an IIT school in India. Indeed, the JEE (Joint Entrance Examinations) can be the “make or break” for the dreams of a young person who dreams of being an IT student. Indeed, just to qualify to take the examination students need to have a minimum 75% passing scores in their examinations and /or be in the top 20 percentile in the class XII examination. It is no easy accomplishment for a young person to obtain entrance to IIT.

But, with hard work and perseverance, a young person is able to obtain entrance to IIT – and their government will reward them with an interest-free loan as part of this new “Vidyalakshmi” program.

Why is this so significant? Indian IT is becoming a world class IT. As I have mentioned many times in this blog, we have India countrymen who are heading up some of the most prominent IT companies in the world such as Google and Microsoft to name a few. Entrance to IIT may be a young person’s chance to lift his or her family out of poverty and into the growing middle and upper class in India.

Once finished with IIT schooling, a young graduate can work with IndiaFreelancers.com and earn an amazing income – even while he or she ponders what will be the next step in his or her career.

The future of the world is in IT and with this “Vidyalakshmi” program our government in India recognizes that in India we have some of the best IT personnel in the world – and they are helping to continue this trend. Websites such as IndiaFreelancers.com are leading the way. We have some of the very best IT experts, web programmers, Internet experts, web developers in India working in IndiaFreelancers.com – and we applaud the government’s “Vidyalakshmi” program as a step to continuing the growth of this excellent class of professionals in India.

Freelancers: Dangers abroad – stay home and Freelance!

In today’s Times of India paper, April 6, 2016, there is an article that an IT engineer from Kerala has been abducted in Libya by an unidentified militia. To our knowledge, according to the stories we have read, the 43 year old Regi Joseph of Koorachundu in the Kozhikode district was not doing anything political or wrong. He was working on IT. His project was to help implement a national citizen database. He was an infrastructure engineer living in Tripoli with his wife Shinuja who is a nurse and their three daughters. For goodness’ sake. An infrastructure IT engineer, a nurse and three young daughters. How much more innocent can you be? Yet he was abducted.

Events like these illustrate the perils and dangers of leaving home. We highlighted in a previous blog entry that many of our Indian countrymen are leaving our beloved India for distant places. They leave in search of a better life for themselves and their families – and the numbers are impressive. Every day Doctors, computer programmers, engineers and other professionals leave India in search of better opportunities for themselves and for their families elsewhere. As I mentioned in my previous blog post, government data show that there are about 2.8 million Indians working in Saudi Arabia, approximately 3.3 million Indians in America, about 1.2 million Indians in Canada and about 1.5 million Indians in the United Kingdom (see this wikipedia page for more details).

Why is this  information critical on this blog? Its critical because with websites such as IndiaFreelancers.com it is now possible to stay home in India and have the foreigners come to you! Every day on IndiaFreelancers.com hundreds of employers come to seek out computer programmers, developers, website specialists and database programmers. Every day computer experts – all top-notch in their areas of specialty – are sought after on IndiaFreelancers.com by employers from abroad. People come to IndiaFreelancers.com from America, Europe, Asia and Australia – to name but a few places.

The quality of our technological experts is starting to be strongly and well known throughout the world. That is why one of our India countrymen was hired to go to Libya to work on their IT project there in the first place – because our experts are good!

But now with IndiaFreelancers.com it is possible to stay home and have the foreigners come to you! They know how excellent is our quality here in India and they will come to IndiaFreelancers.com to find you. So please, think again before leaving home. IndiaFreelancers.com gives you the opportunity to stay home and be among your families and friends – and still make an outstanding income and living.

Freelancers: To Expatriate or to Freelance?

Every day, thousands of Indians leave our homeland seeking employment outside of India. Doctors, computer programmers, engineers and other professionals leave India daily in search of better opportunities for themselves and for their families elsewhere.

Government data show that there are about 2.8 million Indians working in Saudi Arabia, approximately 3.3 million Indians in America, about 1.2 million Indians in Canada and about 1.5 million Indians in the United Kingdom (see wikipedia).

Why so many of our citizens are leaving India to seek a better life elsewhere? Well, once upon a  time India did not have as much to keep us as it is now developing. But that is the past. Almost on a daily basis India is growing and becoming a stronger and wealthier country. Our infrastructure grows along with our financial strength as does the ability of our native India to offer our citizens a higher quality of life.

The question will someday soon not be: “Should I leave India in search of a better life elsewhere?” but instead “Why in the world should I leave India? Things are great here”

People of all skills and educational backgrounds are finding great employment opportunities in India. This is especially true for those with technical skills such as programmers, web designers and computer knowledgeable professionals. These excellent professionals can stay in India and have the work come from abroad to them by taking part in websites such as IndiaFreelancers.com.

And foreign countries know this. They know how absolutely excellent people of Indian heritage are – and they value them accordingly. Saudi Arabia, for example, announced today April 4, 2016 that expatriate workers from India who arrive in Saudi Arabia in search of work, will be given free pre-paid SIM cards on their arrival to the kingdom. Free SIM Cards! Think of it. Saudi Arabia knows what amazing quality it receives when they receive our expatriates. They know it so well that they are willing to give our citizens free pre-paid SIM cards on their arrival. It will not be long before the rest of the world knows and appreciates this as well.

Therefore, if you are a young Indian person with technical, computer, programming or Internet knowledge and skills, consider not leaving your wonderful homeland in search of a better life elsewhere. Consider working with IndiaFreelancers.com and having the world come to you!

Freelancers and Star Wars: Reality and Fiction get closer

The most recent Star Wars movie is excellent. It combines the elements of the past Star Wars movies (the past actors and robots) with the newcomers. It allows us to join the past with the future. Luke Skywalker is resurrected. Its great.

But how about real life? How close are these things to real life? Well, science is quickly catching up to science fiction. Those of us who are old enough to remember, can recall an old TV detective comic from the past called “Dick Tracy”. In that series the main character, Dick Tracy, had a wrist-worn “walkie talkie” which, in 1931 when the comic was first launched, seemed like a far-off impossibility. Well, say hello to my Apple or Android Watch. It can make phone calls and read text messages as well as email. Science fiction meets Science reality.

The same can be said for weapons of the future. We have seen images of lazers used as weapons for about as far back as we can remember seeing science fiction movies. However, in a recent report from the New Delhi based Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), they note that indeed they are close to having developed something called a DEW which stands for a Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) and is something between a high-energy lasers and high-powered microwaves aimed at something. The Hyderabad-based Centre for High Energy Systems and Sciences (CHESS) noted that such DEW systems, in their hands, can have a reach of as much as 800 meters. 800 meters? That is almost a kilometer? Does this mean that this device can beam up and destroy an aircraft almost a kilometer up in the sky? Well, at this point the answer to that is “possibly.”

What does all of this have to do with the excellent Freelancers we have on IndiaFreelancers.com? Well the connection is that our outstanding programmers and developers are the bridge that is bringing science fiction and science reality together. Our superb programmers, developers and Internet geniuses on IndiaFreelancers.com may very likely be discovered on our website and asked to take part in what may very well be the future defense of India.

So please do not stop thinking and wondering. Our outstanding programmers and web developers on IndiaFreelancers.com certainly do not – and neither do the people working on DEWs or CHESS.

Freelancers and Medicine: What are Fixed Dose Combination Drugs?

March 22, 2016

Today I had eggs and toast for breakfast. I had my eggs on one side of my plate and the toast on the other side. Yet, if I were to go to McDonald’s and buy an “Egg McMuffin”, I could buy a sandwich with bread and eggs all in one. That is what is a Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) medicine.

Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) medicines are pills (usually a pill or a capsule) which take a few different medicines and put them all (typically two but it can sometimes be as many as three) into one pill. The convenience of this is that when you take that ONE pill, you are really taking as many as THREE pills at once, but they are all mashed into that one pill.

One would maybe think “how convenient.” Instead of taking one pill, then another and then another. All you need to do with an FDC pill is take ONE pill and you would have ALL THREE medicines in that ONE pill. How easy can that be? Right? Wrong.

The dangers to taking an FDC medicine is the AMOUNTS of each of the individual medicines inside of an FDC pill! An FDC CONTROLS FOR YOU how much of EACH of these medicines you will take. You have no choice. Its like the Egg McMuffin. You do not get to choose how much egg or how much muffin comes to you. It comes already made. The amounts of each of these two ingredients (the egg and the muffin) are fixed before you get your sandwich. Now, when we are dealing with sandwiches that may not be such a bad thing but when we are dealing with medicines that can be terrible. What if you need a little MORE of medicine “A” but a little LESS of medicine “B”? Well, if you take a medicine in which both medicine “A” and “B” are fixed in that one pill and you cannot change the amounts of each of the medicines in that one pill – you may be in trouble. The results can be a disaster. You might wind up taking MORE of medicine “A” than what you need or LESS of medicine “B” than what you need.

If your body needs different amount of different medicines you would be wiser to be a little more industrious, put in a little more effort and take the individual medicines individually. My mom used to say “the person who strives to do less work usually winds up working twice as hard” and I believe that this is what is happening with these FDC medicines. If you wish to work so little that you do not want to take the trouble to take two different pills (heaven forbid you might have to open your mouth twice and swallow two times!), you will maybe pay the price of having to work twice as hard to get over the problems you might have by taking too much or too little of a medicine in an FDC.

Why are we talking about this here today? Well, the Madras High Court today, March 23, 2016, banned 344 of these FDC medicines. If you wish to know which are the medicines which have been banned, you can find them at this link here. However the key is to take your time, take a little more effort and take each medicine that you need individually.

Now, how is all of this relevant to IndiaFreelancers.com? Well the reason it is relevant to our excellent and outstanding freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com is because the future of medicine is in IT. More and more, medicine is going the way of programs and IT enhancements. CAT Scans, MRI Scans, Glucose Meters to test your blood sugar level, etc etc. Our world-class programmers on IndiaFreelancers.com would do well to keep an eye on the world of medicine. The next FDC that you may hear about, may be when someone is asking to hire you to make it easier for people to take their FDCs – and you will need to know what these medicines are if you wish to consider possibly accepting such a job.

Freelancers: US Supreme Court and Surgeon General

In so many ways, the new century of the years 2000 is the century of India. We are growing in India in so many ways. We have a very rapidly growing economy. In 2015 India’s economy was judged to be the fastest growing economy in the world with a growth rate of 7.5 percent. This was faster than even China’s 6.9 percent growth rate for 2015. The World Bank also projects that India will be the fastest growing economy for 2016.

But our growth and increasing world status is measured in the quality of our sons and daughters. Indra Nooyi is a prominent daughter of India who is today the CEO of Pepsi. Satya Nadella is CEO of Microsoft and Sundar Pichai is now CEO of Google. Indians are slowly, quietly but most definitely rising to the highest positions in the world and showing the world our quality.

Now comes the position of the Supreme Court of the United States. There are reports that President Barack Obama of the United States is going to nominate Judge Sri Srinivasan to be the first Indian to the Supreme Court of the United States. He is very well regarded in all judicial circuits. In 2013, he was confirmed unanimously to the Washington DC Circuit Court . That was an amazing feat for a court which is considered to be the “introductory” court to a Supreme Court appointment.

Why are these things I have mentioned above relevant to our freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com? Well, the reason is because our excellent and outstanding programmers, web developers and technical experts on IndiaFreelancers.com com from the same high quality source as the people who are today the CEOs of Microsoft, Google and Pepsi. Our excellent freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com share the same quality heritage as the possible future justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and Dr. Vivek Murthy, the current Surgeon General of the United States.

So, as I always tell our excellent freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com, please remember that, as you do your work and answer your customers, your quality – and all of India – is on display. You are ambassadors to the world of the outstanding quality that is India.

Freedom 251 mobile telephones and Freelancers

February 20, 2016
IndiaFreelancers
No Comments

New is new. Anytime something is new, it is bound to bring attention – both good and not so good. This is what is happening with the Freedom 251 telephone and its maker, Ringing Bells.

To make a new mobile telephone is ok. To make a new mobile telephone which is maybe a little less expensive than the competition is ok as well. But to make a new mobile telephone which upends the status quo and throws the entire mobile telephone world on its ear is most certainly to bring a tremendous amount of attention to oneself.

All new things have always brought this sort of attention – and scrutiny – from the status quo. When electricity was introduced, when cars were introduced, when airplanes were introduced – all of these new things were opposed by the status quo at the time. Electricity was opposed by the kerosene lamp industry as potentially electrocuting people. Cars were opposed by the horse-and-buggy companies as “noisy, dangerous things” and airplanes were, understandably, opposed by transatlantic steam ship operators as never being able to transport someone from the USA to Europe. As history and time have shown us, of course, we now use cars, electricity and airplanes regularly. This is the challenge and the nature of new and disrupting things. If they are truly good things, they will endure the scrutiny and attention that comes with being new and will become part of our daily lives.

Such is the case now ongoing with the Freedom 251 mobile telephones. To make a mobile telephone with a camera, operating system, etc. etc. which costs, as one online newspaper said, “about the price of a cup of coffee” is amazing to say the least. Now the  I-T department of India is looking into this disruptive newcomer to the mobile telephone world as well as the Excise Tax and Income Tax departments of India. The Ringing Bells Company (the company which makes the Freedom 251 mobile telephones) financial structure and its Registrar of Companies (RofC) is being studied. In short, the company and its disruptive product are under the hot sun of a magnifying glass by its competitors and the authorities. We will watch carefully what happens as these things unfold, but one thing is certain: the mobile telephone world in India – and possibly the world – will likely never be the same.

When the Wright Brothers flew the world’s first airplane on December 17, 1903 no one would have imagined that just a mere 66 years later – on July 20, 1969 man would walk on the moon! Think of it. It took 1,903 years for man to fly the first airplane and once that was achieved, it took just 66 years after that for man to take that new invention, perfect it, develop it and walk on the moon! Just 66 years compared to One Thousand Nine Hundred and Three years! Progress is progress and in life change is the only constant.

We at IndiaFreelancers.com will follow the news and the developments which continue to happen with this new and apparently revolutionary new mobile telephone. Freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com will want to know if they can and should write software for this new disruptive machine – and we will keep you informed of developments on this site. We suspect, however, that just as with the Wright Brothers’ invention, the time to when a mobile telephone will not be as expensive as they are now, seems to be coming soon.
