Freelancers: Tata versus Epic – please be careful

This past Friday April 15th, 2016 a United State’s Federal Grand Jury in the state of Wisconsin handed down a fine of $940 million dollar fine against because of a trade secret lawsuit that the Epic company filed against India’s Tata Group (which consists of the Tata Consultancy Services and Tata America International Corporation).

In the case above, a federal grand ruled that Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Tata America International Corporation must each pay $240 million to Epic Systems for ripping off its software. How embarrassing for an India company to be caught doing something like this.

This is not a good day for India. In this blog I have mentioned many times how wonderful things look for us in India. How we in India are developing a great name for ourselves in the international stage. I keep mentioning how we in India are becoming a world economic power and how the world is looking to our technical abilities and regards them as being excellent. I mention  over and over how many excellent and outstanding programmers, web designers and technical professionals we have in IndiaFreelancers.com and how proud we are of their abilities.

But things like this Tata case against the medical software company Epic do not make us in India look good at all. As unpleasant as this story has been, the good news is that this is a small story. There was no super coverage of this story on the evening news in America. This story did not make it to the front pages of the newspapers. This is good. As we in India grow and become more and more respected around the world, we do not want for people to think of us as anything other than completely honest and of the highest integrity.

The good news about this Tata versus Epic case is that people in America and in Europe and the rest of the world think of it as just one company versus another company – and not as Indians behaving dishonorably. Thank Goodness!

So we ask our excellent and outstanding programmers, web developers and technical experts on IndiaFreelancers.com to please be careful which work orders or assignments you accept. With a name like IndiaFreelancers.com, the world is watching to see what we and our excellent programmers in India do. The world is indeed watching India and we want that what they see encourages the rest of the world to continue to feel that we in India are the best of what is to come in the next century – and we most certainly are.

Freelancers: Watch your world

Yesterday, April 15th, 2016 governor Raghuram Rajan of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that the RBI may LOWER its interest rates (lower? Yes, lower) if inflation continues to ease up and if India’s monsoon season turns out to be a good one. Governor Rajan further stated that India has “got it right” with our country’s financial policy in terms of managing our growing and emerging economy.

I could not agree more. At a time when the USA and other countries are thinking of INCREASING their interest rates, the RBI is considering LOWERING our interest rates in India. These guys could not be more wise. A lower interest rate will continue to help Indians to borrow money with which to start new businesses and thereby continue India’s rise as a world economic power.

In our lifetimes, we are witnessing the rise of prominence of India on the world’s stage. The day is soon arriving when India will be more than an “emerging economy.” India will soon be world economic power. It is through such excellent leadership like governor Rajan’s of the RBI that our economy will continue to thrive and grow. Indeed, the RBI has lowered its interest rate by an approximate cumulative amount of 1.5 per cent since a little over two years ago in January of 2015. Now THAT’S Indian leadership. That is the kind of leadership which has produced Indian native sons and daughters such as the current CEOs of companies such as Microsoft, Google and Pepsi. A slow, steady and PREDICTABLE decrease in interest rates allows us in India to better plan things. We know what to expect in terms of interest rates and therefore we can better plan when to take out loans to start, grow and/or expand businesses here in India.

This kind of Indian excellence is the excellence that is sprouting out like blooming flowers all over India in different and diverse industries from medicine to technology. Indian quality, intelligence and ability is on beautiful display on the world’s stage and making a wonderful name for itself.

Indian quality is equally greatly and wonderfully on display on IndiaFreelancers.com. On this platform/website some of the best and the brightest technology minds in India are available to be employed. Via IndiaFreelancers.com people from all over the world – Europe, China, America and many other countries – are able to hire our excellent, outstanding and superb technical minds here in India – for the betterment of the planet and the continued growth worldwide of the Indian name as a symbol of quality. So we tell our outstanding Freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com to carefully continue to “watch your world”. Keep an eye on things such as interest rates and what the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and other institutions do so you can continue to be the crest of the wave that brings India into the 22nd century. We here at Blog.IndiaFreelancers.com will continue to keep you informed of what is happening around you as you continue your journey for India’s glory.

Freelancers and Health Care: Diabetes

Diabetes. There is a good chance that most of us know someone who has this disease. It is everywhere – or so it seems to be.

The World Health Organization (WHO) today reported that in 2015 in India of people between the ages of 30-70 approximately 80,000 males and 50,000 females died due to complication of  diabetes, whereas if we look at people above the age of 70,  approximately 50,000 males and 45,000 females died of the disease. This was in 2015 alone – and things are getting worse.

In the last 16 years the incidence of diabetes in India has doubled! There were about 32 million diabetics in India in the year 2000 and that number has grown to well over 60 million diabetics in India as of 2013. That is a 100% growth in the last 13 years!

Why is this happening? Well, unfortunately the answer is progress. Progress? How in the world can progress be responsible for some many more diabetics in India? Well, again, the unfortunate answer is not just progress but financial progress.

You see, as we get more and more rick in India; as the number of Indians who live in hi-rise expensive buildings and have extra money to buy luxury things increases, so does the number of Indians who are able to snack and eat things which they would otherwise not eat if they did not have such an amount of discretionary money.

This is no different than what is happening in other countries such as America. In Paris a few days ago a Global Survey has now discovered that today one out of every 8 adults is obese. That’s right obese. Obesity is the brother of diabetes. The more people weigh, the greater the chances of becoming diabetic.

To combat this, technology is coming up with things such as continuous monitoring patches which tell the patient and the doctors what the person’s blood sugar is at all times. There are more and more sophisticated glucose meters every day. It is only a matter of time before someone asks one of our excellent programmers on IndiaFreelancers.com to build, design or program something for diabetics. When that happens, we want for our excellent, outstanding programmers on IndiaFreelancers.com to be ready. To know what diabetes is here in India and worldwide and to be prepared to write the best program or application for this disease – in order to again put the name of India on the world’s stage as one of the places on earth where the best minds are creating the best products to help the human race. I would not all be surprised if the next big breakthrough in creating a program or an App for diabetes care comes from India. Further, I would fully expect that that great development will come from one of our excellent programmers or web developers on IndiaFreelancers.com.

Freelancers and Medicine: What are Fixed Dose Combination Drugs?

Today I had eggs and toast for breakfast. I had my eggs on one side of my plate and the toast on the other side. Yet, if I were to go to McDonald’s and buy an “Egg McMuffin”, I could buy a sandwich with bread and eggs all in one. That is what is a Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) medicine.

Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) medicines are pills (usually a pill or a capsule) which take a few different medicines and put them all (typically two but it can sometimes be as many as three) into one pill. The convenience of this is that when you take that ONE pill, you are really taking as many as THREE pills at once, but they are all mashed into that one pill.

One would maybe think “how convenient.” Instead of taking one pill, then another and then another. All you need to do with an FDC pill is take ONE pill and you would have ALL THREE medicines in that ONE pill. How easy can that be? Right? Wrong.

The dangers to taking an FDC medicine is the AMOUNTS of each of the individual medicines inside of an FDC pill! An FDC CONTROLS FOR YOU how much of EACH of these medicines you will take. You have no choice. Its like the Egg McMuffin. You do not get to choose how much egg or how much muffin comes to you. It comes already made. The amounts of each of these two ingredients (the egg and the muffin) are fixed before you get your sandwich. Now, when we are dealing with sandwiches that may not be such a bad thing but when we are dealing with medicines that can be terrible. What if you need a little MORE of medicine “A” but a little LESS of medicine “B”? Well, if you take a medicine in which both medicine “A” and “B” are fixed in that one pill and you cannot change the amounts of each of the medicines in that one pill – you may be in trouble. The results can be a disaster. You might wind up taking MORE of medicine “A” than what you need or LESS of medicine “B” than what you need.

If your body needs different amount of different medicines you would be wiser to be a little more industrious, put in a little more effort and take the individual medicines individually. My mom used to say “the person who strives to do less work usually winds up working twice as hard” and I believe that this is what is happening with these FDC medicines. If you wish to work so little that you do not want to take the trouble to take two different pills (heaven forbid you might have to open your mouth twice and swallow two times!), you will maybe pay the price of having to work twice as hard to get over the problems you might have by taking too much or too little of a medicine in an FDC.

Why are we talking about this here today? Well, the Madras High Court today, March 23, 2016, banned 344 of these FDC medicines. If you wish to know which are the medicines which have been banned, you can find them at this link here. However the key is to take your time, take a little more effort and take each medicine that you need individually.

Now, how is all of this relevant to IndiaFreelancers.com? Well the reason it is relevant to our excellent and outstanding freelancers on IndiaFreelancers.com is because the future of medicine is in IT. More and more, medicine is going the way of programs and IT enhancements. CAT Scans, MRI Scans, Glucose Meters to test your blood sugar level, etc etc. Our world-class programmers on IndiaFreelancers.com would do well to keep an eye on the world of medicine. The next FDC that you may hear about, may be when someone is asking to hire you to make it easier for people to take their FDCs – and you will need to know what these medicines are if you wish to consider possibly accepting such a job.

Freelancers: Health Care – Cervical Cancer

If you knew that a bad storm was coming, wouldn’t you take cover? If you knew that a car was going to crash into you, wouldn’t you get out of the way? If you knew that lightning was going to strike in a certain area, wouldn’t you leave that area?

These are simple and easy to answer questions. Of course you would get out of the way of these problems, and yet people do not get out of the way of Cervical Cancer in India – even though they know its coming and can do something about it before it gets here!

Cervical Cancer is a cancer of the uterus in women. The cervix of the uterus is the part of the uterus in women which is exposed to the outside world the most. It is precisely because this part of the uterus is exposed to the outside world, that it is able to be infected with a type of virus called a papillomavirus (also called HPV) which can cause Cervical Cancer.

Medical science now knows that this HPV type of virus infection can cause this type of cancer. Medical science also now knows how to PREVENT this type of cancer – by doing regular check-ups called “Pap smears” and by – at a young age – taking a vaccine against the HPV virus which causes the cancer. And yet, despite this knowledge, in India, Cervical Cancer in women is a big killer. Last year over 62,000 women in India DIED of cervical cancer! In fact, Cervical Cancer accounts for almost 1/4 of all cancer cases in India. That is unbelievable! That is just crazy! Why in the world should even ONE woman in India die of something which we can prevent with a vaccine and monitor with a regular simple check up? The answer is: information. We need to get the information out to all women in India that they do not have to die or even get this cancer. All women need to do is to get regular “pap smear” check ups and/or when they are younger, take the vaccine against the HPV virus that causes cervical cancer.

How is uterine Cervical Cancer relevant to IndiaFreelancers.com? Well, on IndiaFreelancers.com we have outstanding programmers and developers. We have unbelievably great minds on IndiaFreelancers.com. I am sure that at least ONE of these great minds on IndiaFreelancers.com can think of an application or a program or a website which can help to educate women in India about Cervical Cancer and how they can help themselves to not get it. I am sure of it. We just need a posting like this to nudge one of our great minds on IndiaFreelancers.com to become enthusiastic about this and make one of their great projects. I bet they will do it and it will be great.
